MONTECITO, CA –Like many of you Provencal Collective’s plans have been altered by the COVID-19 pandemic, too. But, thankfully, that hasn’t stopped many of you from ordering our wines online and we are thankful for your continued participation.
In early March James Wood of Domaine Vintur had plans to visit us in California for a series of tastings and events aimed at promoting his 2017 Cuvée de Séléné which had just won the Gold Medal at the 2020 World Organic Wine Fair. That trip was cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Provencal Collective wines were to be featured at the Cannes Film Festival but, like so many other events, it was cancelled. We still hope to see some of you this August at LA Winefest in Long Beach – COVID-19 willing. And a feature story on Provencal Collective scheduled to run in Montecito Magazine was also postponed.
So right now, like many of you, I rely on wine tasting memories to keep me going. Late last year Andre Tremblay of Domaine du Tix and I had an opportunity visit with Chef Gérald Passesdat of Michelin Three-Star restaurant Le Petit Nice in Marseille. As expected the meal was indescribably delicious – one of the few restaurants truly worthy of that coveted third star.
So, for now, memories like these will have to hold us over in the uncertain months ahead. To borrow from George Harrison: All things must pass. Even COVID-19.
